What to do:

We provide plenty of folders with ideas of what to do in the vicinities including maps, cycling routes and pathways.

Just to give you an idea:

 

In & around our B&B:

  • Several pathways, cycling and mountain biking routes.
  • Massage: our neighbor is a professional Ayurveda therapist and will do massages in his own studio.
  • Rock climbing: in our “backyard” there is a 12 meter high cliff with several multi-pitch climbing routes.
  • Several sitting areas in our garden near our pond allow you to leisurely rest in the shadow or in the sun
  • Cheese tasting in Alsace: Informative tour of the cheese factory with an extensive tasting. 
  • Gems and minerals exposition in St Marie aux Mines
  • Quilt/patchwork exposition in St Marie aux Mines
  • Several destinations on pathways with snowshoes.

 Within 20mn by car:

  • The Xonrupt and Gérardmer lakes for all kinds of watersports  such as swimming, windsurfing, sailing but also small beaches for leisure, picnic areas and snacks.
  • Hiking area around the Glacière. The pathway goes beyond an old hydropower sawmill where guided tours are offered.
  • Exterior karting racetrack and quad rental.
  • A neat and small sauna / spa / wellness center.

Within 30mn by car:

  • Route de Crêtes ( Route of the Ridges): more than 65km of a breathtakingly beautiful road that undulates in the Alsace between the Vosges Mountains. A big nature reserve with stunning views and therefor an outdoor paradise in the Vosges Mountains for walking, cycling, mountain biking, motor riding, winter sports and also paragliding, rock climbing, free riding and summer sledging. You can see the Col du Bonhomme, the Col de la Schlucht, the Hohneck, the Markstein and the Grand & Petit Ballon. You can see the mountain lakes of the Lac Blanc, the lac Vert and the Lac Noir. From one of the many mountain hut terraces, with clear visibility, you can see the Alps and the Black Forest.
  • Rock climbing: the 300m high Martinswand
  • Paragliding/hang-gliding at the 12-1300m high Rainkopf and Markstein where it is magnificent to glide above the Alsace and the Vosges Mountains.
  • Summer Sledging at the Col de la Schlucht. Freeriding-station: Col de Calvaire
  • The Wine Routes of the Alsace, the wine tasting and the picturesque half-timbered villages such as Munster, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr. The ski resorts of Gérardmer, Lac Blanc/Bonhomme and Hohneck.
